“Catch a Wave” (Short Prose) Multiple Word Prompts

Once Richard and Lois checked in at the lobby, they were escorted by the bellboy to their comfortable room that looked out over the surf.

They both changed into the swimsuits and back down the elevator then descended.  Lois pitched the umbrella into the white sands, while Richard strapped on his surfboard to his ankle.

Richard was an avid surfer in California but was psyched to try the waves of the Australian shores.  Just as he came out of the carve, another surfer warned him a shark was on his tail.

Who would have predicted the vacation would be cut short and that Lois needed to make the funeral arrangement back home in California?
