“Why Do I Love Autumn?”

(Poem)

Autumn leaves

in bright and deep,

rustic colors

A crisp chill in the air

holding onto aย

pumpkin lattes,

tea, or hot apple cider

with a cinnamon stick

A walk through the woods

in flannel and fleece

warm socks and boots

to protect your feet

Bonfires and football games

pumpkin patches

and apple pie

Strolls along the lake

while feeding the ducks and geese

Driving through winding roadsย

and take in the Fall scenery

Carving Jack-o-lanterns

watch them glowย

enjoying yummy chewy smores

Hayrides and corn mazes

pick your own apples

and pretty mums along the way

Hazelnuts and popcorn balls

with scented candles flickering

Summer days may be over,

but I prefer the suns rays touching

the autumn foliage, any day.

  1. Autumn in SoCal, October especially, is in full swing. It means wearing layers of clothes because at night the temp dips to the low 50s and the high is upper 80s-low 90s. It’s the “more laundry” month๐Ÿ˜‚

    Your version sounds nicer๐Ÿ˜

        1. LOL! I get so lost on Pinterest, I lose hours sometimes.
As far as the adult coloring books go… I have one of those empty office paper boxes filled to capacity of coloring books and pencils, pens, and crayons… Have you ever tried shading and blending the color to give the pictures more depth? It comes out incredible. ๐Ÿ˜Š

          1. I enjoyed Pinterest more many years ago when there were less choices. On occasion I drop in to see what’s new (LOL). I’m just starting with the colored pencils and books – yes, shading can produce a nice visual effect. ๐Ÿ™‚
