“Falling For Fall”

(Poetry)

The wind on the water, a rippling creek

a symphony of cardinals and goldfinches

fine-tuning their chirps and squeaks

Falls foliage captures the sunlight

amber, orange, and maroon,

all seemingly ignite

A tall maple release leaves like confetti

and they drift downward, descending

resting in the rippling creek, drifting steadily

A chill in the air at the break of dawn

the scent of apple orchards simmering in the sun,

the hayrides and mazes, all so much fun…

    1. Our subtle change was the temps dropping to the mid ’40’s last night. I couldn’t believe it. Thank God, I covered Peanut up pretty good last night.
β€οΈπŸ‚ πŸ§‘πŸπŸ’› When I was coming back from shopping the other day, I drive over a cute little bridge, and the sight was so tranquil and pretty. I can’t imagine living in a place that doesn’t experience seasons changing. I know my mother misses this time of year, being she’s in Florida now. 🌴 🌱 🌡🌞🌺 🌸

      1. My ex used to complain that SoCal didnt have seasons. We do. It’s just more subtle.πŸ˜‰ It would be fun to see the pretty colors, but I’ll pass on the snow that’s around the bend.

It was only 85 here today, hurray! Still…I’m waiting for the light to shift and a certain scent in the air… subtle.
