๐Ÿ˜Œ August 3, 2019: Quote of The Day & My Thoughts

“Peace is not a place where there is no sound.ย  Peace is a state of mind.ย  Freeing yourself from the toxins that don’t serve you anymore and allowing yourself to rebuild the broken pieces of yesterday.ย  It can’t be forced, it can only just be.”

  1. Thank you for sharing this quote, and also for sharing your thoughts, which really resonated with me. An interpretation that I have of peace is that it comes when we accept our own opinion that something cannot be changed. We don’t have to like or agree with whatever happened that can’t be changed. Rather, we genuinely accept our opinion that the situation can’t be changed. I also don’t think that this can be forced.

    1. Yes, peace and change cannot be forced upon us… But, it’s an acceptance of things we cannot change… If we must live with things the way they are, then we have to accpet it and find peace within. If we don’t like things for what they are, we do have to control in which to fight for a change.
I battled most of my adult like with adjusting and/or making change hapen. A hug struggle at times, but then I grew acceptance, and found inner peace.

      1. Agreed and I think it must be a genuine acceptance, otherwise we run the risk of giving up and slipping into resignation. Your comment has reminded me that I should have said โ€œaccept that we cannot change it nowโ€. Sometimes, we may not be able to change something now but we can down the track. A simple example is that I canโ€™t afford a European holiday right now. I may not like it but that is how it is. Even though I canโ€™t change that right now, it is possible that I could change it down the track. I agree that dealing with change can be a huge struggle, and good on you for finding acceptance and inner peace. I have really appreciated this discussion, thank you.
