“Mindscape” (Poem) #Write Photo Thursday Photo Prompt: Open & FOWC With Fandango – Movement

For visually challenged writers, the monochrome image shows an empty corridor with several doors opening in a line, one after the other…

“Mindscape”

(Poem)

I tiptoe carefully through the ominous

corridors;  there isn’t the slightest breeze

nor movement to stir the cobwebs that stretch between

each open doorway that leads to yet another passage

The stale air and dust constrict my breathing;

panting and squinting as I search for an exit,

the crepuscular lighting is dimming

as I enter the continuous doorways,

one long extension of hallways one after the other,

there’s no end nor exit in sight,

but then again…

stirring within the tenebrous corridors of my mind,

there would never be an exit to find,

not ever.
