“My Secret Garden”
(Poetry)
When my mind is befuddled and distraught,
I seek refuge beyond the threshold that leads to
my sanctuary, my secret garden.
The slate mossy pathway lined with lovely blue dawn
of morning glory soothes and relieves the anguish
of my heart that has hardened.
The fiasco and upheaval of what lies beyond
the confines of stone walls protect me,
I sit upon my bench, contemplating the iniquity,
of which I cannot pardon.
… I close my eyes, exhale to atrociousness
the outside world serves, and inhale all that
is virtuous, all that is enclosed within my secret garden.
