Hello, All! Happy “Hump Day!” & Happy May! (finally)
This is also Mental Health Awareness Month!
Although a great number of us in the mental health community here on WordPress discuss this regularly, May is the month where it seems to be more prevalent. I for one am proud to be part of this community because I’m in damn good company! 💚
I figured I’d get this part out of the way first… My mindfulness to self-care. As soon as I woke up, I washed my face, brushed my teeth, and brushed my hair into a ponytail. I didn’t take a shower, being that I only took one yesterday. I look at it this way… How could I possibly get that disgusting overnight? Not likely. I do, on the other hand, have a facial mask with my name on it for later.
I am extremely proud to say that this past Sunday, marked three weeks since I started my eating healthier lifestyle. I have stuck with it, no cheating on chocolate and foods that aren’t good for me. ‘This seriously is a huge thing for me, so I will give myself high Kudos! to stick with it!’
Part of self-help and self-care and the victories no matter how big or small, are something you have to give yourself credit for.
Having a mental illness is like parts of you being chipped away or stolen. When we regain some of what we have lost over time, it’s like finishing a race to the finish line. But, it’s a daily battle to get there.
Again… Be kind to yourself! Celebrate all that is you! You are trying your best, so give yourself a pat on the back!
Okay, there are some bloggers I know very well that have created series to introduce new mental health bloggers to the community, for which I give them a round of applause to. I myself, have met some new bloggers through this process and I have to admit, this is a great way to get to know new people and welcome them!
Since it is Mental Health Awareness Month, I’d like to invite all of you to “Mental Mingling!”
Rules: In the comment section of this post, leave your name, name of your blog site, and a link.
