~*~Mindful Monday – Make a Change~*~

Wind me up...it's monday again

Hello, Good Day to All!  Happy Monday as well as, Happy April!  A fresh new month beginning at the beginning of the week.  Do you feel a change in the air yet?  Spring, that is…

Beauty by Tamara Gibbs

This past weekend was a tease, the real April fools joke played by Mother Nature herself.  Saturday was a glorious day!  Sun shining, fresh air blowing through open windows.  It was an “Ahhhh moment” – Then Sunday arrived, dreary, cold, miserable weather.  Hey, I’ll admit it, I was not in the right frame of mind.  However… I tried a new meditation.  Another thing I should mention, that particular one made me excruciatingly tired.  Note:  We all experience “Off Days”.

I’m always looking for new ways of reinventing my routine in order to practice being mindful.  That’s one of the things I enjoy about being mindful, WE have the power to change it any which way in order to improve our overall well-being.

Last evening, I took it upon myself to turn off the Netflix around 12-ish am.  What I was watching was way over stimulating, hence not allowing me to truly calm down.  Instead, I chose to pick out one of my books.  No, not a novel or anything of that nature, but this little book inspired me to share some quotes on the subject of change.  What better way to begin a new month and new week by reminding ourselves that change is not always a bad thing, right?

Adapting to Change:

“We should not try to alter circumstances but to adapt ourselves to them as they really are, just as sailors do.  They don’t try to change the winds or the sea but ensure that they are always ready to adapt themselves to conditions.  In a flat calm, they use the oars; with a following breeze they hoist full sail; in a headwind, they shorten sail or heave to.  Adapt yourself to circumstances in the same way.”

~ Bion Of Borysthenes, Philosopher ~

I love sailboats. I've never been on one but I love watching them. So peaceful. Home way by Romeo Koitmäe

The Beauty of Change:

“Even now, I still believe metamorphosis is the greatest beauty.”

~ David Vann, Writer ~

Just lovely

Challenges of Change:

“When we are no longer able to change a situation… we are challenged to change ourselves.”

~ Viktor Frankel, Neurologist/Psychiatrist ~

I’d also like to share a new video to add to your meditation library.  (Yes, I do have a meditation library).  It’s all about “Focus & Clarity” by,  Life Raft.  It’s only a 15-minute video. I can honestly say, this was truly relaxing and I was able to fall asleep a little earlier than I have in recent days.

I hope that all of you have a wonderful fresh start to a brand new week in a brand new month.

Take Care & God Bless,

Beckie 💗

  1. I always go by when I hear the first whippoorwill to officially begin spring. Interestingly enough, the first was on the first calendar spring day this year.

    1. That’s so sweet. I don’t ever thik I have heard one of them before. I’ll have to look that one up. LOL!
My first sign of Spring is listening to Robins outside my bedroom window. It would be a lot nicer if the weather would be a little more cooperative though. Only in the 40’s here today. Argh!

      1. Robins tend to stay here year round so I can’t go by them. But whippoorwills are a sure sign of spring!

After the winter y’all had, it’s going to take some time to warm up out your way!
