To Be A Kid
climbing trees
scraping knees
riding a bike
go for a hike
fly a kite
stargaze at night
fish at the pond
play fairy with a magical wand
uncontrollable giggles
watching worms wiggle
jumping rope
look through a kaleidoscope
play leapfrog
run with my dog
making mud pies
swing to touch the skies
hang with friends
hoping the days would never end
Ah, to be a kid again.
time flew by
in the blink of an eye
catapulted
into adulthood
responsibilities
sensibilities
holding on tight to memories
of what it was like to be a kid again.

Brilliant. It even reads like a skipping rhyme, takes me back to my childhood. 🙂
