Diagnosed with bipolar in 2005 aged 42 was the first of two significant diagnosis’s that l would be set to receive with the Asperger’s syndrome coming in 2008. Twas a lot to cope with at the time. Having lived my young life and my adult life in a state of constant turmoil.

This piece was written in anger at principally the medical profession and society who seemingly believed that just because l was older – l wouldn’t need any additional support to having these new understandings enter my life. Society at the time was guilty of believing that just because what l was going through could not specifically be seen, then what was l grumbling about?

Just because it can’t be seen, doesn’t mean it isn’t there!
