~*~ April 9, 2018: Mindfulness & Meditation Monday ~*~

Good Afternoon! My Dear Friends, how are you today?  I’m doing fairly decent considering my sleep is still a little off, and I haven’t had coffee yet today.  I’m trying my hardest to avoid it, but I may break if I don’t administer some quickly.  LOL!

Anyway, I started off my day with reading the “Reader”, then reading some of my mindfulness and self-help books to increase the energy and focus of my mind.  In other words, I need all the help I can get with all that is on my mind late at night.  If I try to put things into perspective, I know the sleep issue won’t be an issue for much longer.  💤 💤 💤

One of the books I was reading  before I went to bed last night was “The Language of Letting Go” by Melody Beattie (A daily meditation on codependency)

Self-Care

“I don’t precisely know what I need to do to take care of yourself.  But, I know you can figure it out.”  ~  Beyond Codependency

Many of us have learned how to deprive and neglect ourselves.  We know how to push ourselves to the outer limits at times, but we also know when our bodies are telling us something is truly wrong when we don’t take care of ourselves.  I’m sure you have heard the expression, “Rome wasn’t built in a day”, well neither was all the housework piling up.  Stop pushing yourself to get everything done in one day, guess what…  It’ll still be there the next.  Take baby steps if necessary in order to complete everything on your to-do list.  

I have put off a good cleaning in my bed and bath for over a week now.  Sure, I’ve spot cleaned here and there, but not the cleaning that I so kill myself doing time and time again.  I’ve decided to just take things in stride today.

Remember this…  Rest when you are tired, drink a cold glass of water when thirsty, practice just doing one thing at a time instead of conquering the world at once.  Break out a book, and sit back in your cozy place and read for an hour…  Just chill out!

Meditation

Practice mindful meditation in order to calm your busy day down.  Most meditation videos can share with you on how to do just that.  

 

The Mindful Movement is a 20-minute meditation that I must admit, placed me in a better frame of mind this morning.  I feel relaxed and energized even without the coffee consumption.  

Repeat after me…  “Today, I will practice loving self-care.  I deserve self-care.”  A simple affirmation in which you can repeat to yourself daily.

 

I do hope you have a wonderful Monday afternoon.  Again, take things in stride.

  1. It is encouraging to read that you do things to improve your mood. I need to take your example and do so when I get down. It’s difficult for me when I am low. You set a great example, friend.

    • It’s not that easy, I force myself daily to get myself to think positive when the world is going to shit. I have at least got to try, and it does feel better at the end of the day, knowing I gave it all I got. Thank you, kindly for the compliment. That meant the world to me. ((( Hugs ))) 🙂
