Last evening, my roommate “JK” and her friend “J-whatever”, and I went out to drive around and look at Christmas lights. I don’t want to sound critical, but I will (LOL!), don’t most people look at Christmas lights before Christmas? Am I stating the obvious? Maybe, it’s just me that feels this way.
This little ditty sums up the evening being in the car for nearly 5 hours. “Oh, don’t think you’re reading the hours incorrectly. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no.”
JK- “Let’s go up into the Watchung Mountains and see how the rich people decorate their homes.”
J-whatever’s response-“I wanna go through Dunellen, South Plainfield, Middlesex etc…”
Road sings all say 30 MPH, then back down to 25 MPH depending on how sharp the curves are, we are going, at 50 if not more as if we’re on “Space Mountain” in Disney.
The first two hours of our pleasure viewing consisted of a lot of “Ooo, Awwww’s”, but, as we were nearing the 11 o’clock hour, I certainly noticed there were less and fewer lights on…Perhaps because it was late, and AFTER CHRISTMAS???? I’m just putting it out there!
I simply sat back and took in the remaining lights, while listening to “JK” and “J-Whatever” screaming to one another for the next additional 2 more hours…
” Left, make a left!”
“Make a right!”
“It’s a Dead End, I can’t make a right!”
“Make a left, left, your other left!”
“I can’t understand why no one has their lights on?”
“SERIOUSLY??? IT’S 12:45 AM AND YOU’RE WONDERING WHY?” — (I didn’t say it out loud, but I gave myself a headache saying out loud inside my own head).
I think next year, “I’m just thinking here”… We might want to do this before Christmas, and perhaps start looking at lights say around 6pm, instead of waiting until 8:30pm! Or, I could just stay in for the evening and wait to just hang out with my roommate, and not her moronic fool of a friend.
Alright, now that I ranted over something so darn right full of nonsense, I think I shall make myself a cup of coffee. Yes, I wrote before coffee again. 😦
Take Care & God Bless,
